Loch Vostok

Apro il topic dato che non ne vedo già aperti su questa band.
Band svedese, autrice di due album di quello che definiscono extreme progressive metal, a me sembra più un prog/death, ma vabbè.
Formatisi nel 2001, pubblicano il loro primo promo nel 2002, per poi rimasterizzarlo e trasformarlo quindi nel loro primo album, Dark Logic, nel 2004.
2 anni più tardi, con un paio di cambi in line-up (fra i quali l'ex Platitude Andreas Lindhal alla tastiera, che è il motivo per cui ho cominciato a seguire la band) esce Destruction Time Again, che si mantiene sulle sonorità del primo album, ma imho registrato in modo migliore.
Entro Maggio penso esca l'album nuovo (uff, però non c'è più Lindhal).
Perchè ho questa sensazione?
Perchè gli Helstar a Maggio faranno un tour europeo portandosi come spalla i Lanfear e i Loch Vostok, e il 29 Maggio saranno al Rock City di Bologna.

A quanto pare invece parteciperanno solo al festival di Bologna il primo Giugno.

Da ieri ho finalmente l'ultimo cd.
Di prog non c'è poi tanto, neppure di death se è per quello, ogni tanto una spruzzata qua e là, rimane comunque un buon cd.

Come ho scritto nella recensione, il gruppo naviga nel limbo Prog/Death, tuttavia la parte Prog appare dominante.

Per pura formalità sposto in Progressive, ma giustamente importa che sia un buon CD.

New Year - New Lineup
Wow, it's 2010? That means Loch Vostok is celebrating 10 years! 10 very fun years that also lead to change. Niklas "shredder deluxe" Kupper and Alvaro "the rhythm retard" Svanerö quit the band. Alvaro is having so much fun with his new band "Lou Siffer" and Niklas is concentrating on his family. Thanks for all these years! You rule!

Naturally we had to find some equally good, or better dudes to fill their spots. In comes insane drummer Thomas Ohlsson (Ex-The Project Hate, Ex-Axenstar) and shredmaster guitar-stunt phantom Mano Lewys (ManoMetal, Ex-Machinery). We are so happy to have them in the band, and we're starting immediately to prepare the recording of "Void", Loch Vostok's fourth offering...
Expect a huge leap forward in sound and deliverance.

We've also been booked as support for a huge Swedish band touring Europe in November,
but 'til it's contracted we'll shut up

ma questo è l'unico cd? cmq ho visto forse su un sito ufficiale che lo hanno catalogato come extreme prog metal...
diciamo che ci si addice dai!

cmq non sono male, l'estremo è proprio la loro particolarità effettivamente, ma non death, io cmq voto gli assoli, che nonostante la velocità del brano non cadono in banalità..questo per intendere che sanno gestirla bene la questa velocità, inserendo assoli carini..
