Un mio amico quando era venuto a Verona per una clinic, quindi non fa proprio testo, visto che suonava sulle basi.
Comunque oltre ai suoi solisti dovrebbe fare canzoni anche dei Dream Evil e sopratutto Firewind, viso che si porta dietro Henning Basse e Nunez (il primo aveva già cantato live nei Firewind anni fa, il secondo è l'attuale batterista della band).
Io li vedrò a Modena, sicuramente saranno più interessanti gli Arthemis.

Today we're happy to announce our new singer! And it's none other than Henning Basse! Some of you might know him from his work in Metalium, others might have also seen him on stage with us. Henning is no stranger to Firewind fans as he toured the world with us back in 2007!

Since last year he started playing some shows w/ Gus G's solo band and he delivered amazing performances, stunning the crowds all over Europe! Henning is an amazing frontman & a personality that totally fits with what Firewind is all about.

New FIREWIND Studio Album "IMMORTALS" set for January 2017 release!

Greek melodic Power metal masters FIREWIND, are proud to announce the release of their upcoming 8th studio album, ”Immortals”, which will be released on January 20th, 2017 via the band’s longtime label partner Century Media Records in Europe & AFM Records in North America.

Gus G checks in to comment about “Immortals” and its artwork: “Today we're very happy to reveal the cover artwork for our 8th studio album. It's titled "Immortals" and it's the first concept album FIREWIND has ever made. Since we're from Greece, we thought it would be a cool idea to make a concept of Greek history and heritage. So, on this album we focused on the legendary battles of Thermopylae and Salamis during the 2nd Persian invasion of Greece in 480 BC. The artwork was once again created by our longtime collaborator, Gustavo Sazes and we feel it reflects the vibe we tried to capture on this album - Epic, Powerful, Glorious, Everlasting.”

“Immortals” marks the first time FIREWIND used an outside co-producer, working with Dennis Ward (Unisonic, Pink Cream 69), who not only engineered, mixed and mastered the album, but also co-wrote it together with Gus G. The album’s tracklisting reads as follows:

Ode To Leonidas è proprio un bel pezzo :-)

 

In questi giorni sto recuperando un po' di album arretrati e sto valutando l'ultimo dei Firewind, il cambio alla voce non é stato così traumatico come immaginavo, mi dispiace leggere sul web alcuni commenti che danno i Firewind come già finiti, privi di originalità, che il Power Metal é alla frutta da anni (anche se definire i Firewind solo "Power" mi sembrava riduttivo). Volendo giudicare questo album é chiaro che non siamo di fronte ad un capolavoro ma sicuramente potrei definirlo un buon album, da chitarrista, soprattutto Prog, mi rendo conto che siamo ben lontani dai tempi di "Between Heaven and Hell", esordio che a mio parere aveva gli assoli e le melodie vocali tra le migliori in assoluto composte da Gus G.
Questo "Immortals" é un nuovo inizio, non mi piace come BHaH, o quelli con Apollo alla voce, ma non trovo giusto demonizzarlo, c'é parecchia varietà e tra i pezzi migliori metterei sicuramente "Wars of Ages", "Lady of 1000 Sorrows" e quella che reputo la migliore di tutte, "Live and Die By the Sword", pezzo in cui Basse graffia la voce molto più rispetto agli altri pezzi ricordandomi proprio Stephen Fredrick del primo album (non vorrei essere l'unico ad aver avuto questa impressione)
