hanno chiuso baracche e burattini!mi dispiace!

 

tra l'altro quello che mi innervosisce ancora di più è che con Eidoline avevano trovato un buon equilibrio, è stato ben accolto dalla critica anche se di certo non un capolavoro, un cantante molto promettente .....
Mah .... misteri

 

la realtà che un gruppo poco conosciuto che dopo il primo cd non si è riuscito ad imporsi per tanti motivi!peccato!fanno una onorevolissima musica!

 

Speriamo almeno in progetti paralleli degni di nota che rimandino allo stile dei Mechanical (che sia di Woodlands o di Eidoline, a me andrebbe bene qualsiasi dei due)... oppure ad una futura reunion... erano una grandissima band

 

Lex e J.Lenin (il cantante di C.Tales) stavano lavorando ai Luna Damien, ma questo progetto è stato chiuso ancora prima di nascere

In realtà vorrei far notare che la band vera e propria non è mai esistita, sono esistite band diverse con lo stesso chitarrista/ideatore/disegnatore, che poi è stata la mente principale da sempre. Nei primi due dischi però si sentiva anche l'esperienza e la bravura degli altri 2 componenti che, andati via, hanno permesso la discesa in qualità del "gruppo".
Lex è impegnato in qualche progetto strumentale simpatico, ma niente di realmente interessante, e Max Samosvat canta negli Epidemia, ma le sue qualità vocali in una band power metal non sono certo espresse allo stesso livello di quello che gli offrivano i MP

 

Oilà, avendo letto tutte le pagine precedenti del thread mi par di capire che ci sia gente in crisi di astinenza nera da Mech Poet (dei tempi di Woodland Prattlers)...come me del resto.
In ogni caso, potrebbe aiutarvi ascoltare l'ultimo album dei Solstice Coil, "Natural Causes". Io mi ci sono imbattuto per caso mentre cercavo info su un altro album omonimo che non vedremo mai (quello degli Alarum -.-). Comunque, è la sola cosa che in 4-5 anni mi abbia richiamato alla mente i Mechanical dei primi album, anche se i Solstice suonano prog rock. Insomma, se volete sentire qualcosa del genere...provate.
Ci sono i pezzi sulla loro pagina bandcamp se interessa, il pezzo "Singalong Deathtrap" potrebbe essere un buon punto di inizio.
A me paiono un po' un misto tra le atmosfere dei Mechanical Poet, un certo feeling poppettaro simile a quello dei Living Attic (anche qua...se interessa...) e qualche altra cosetta che al momento non ho ben presente.

P.S (scusate se non sono passato prima dalla sezione presentazioni o qualcosa del genere, ma la tentazione di passare subito in questo thread è stata troppo forte...e non ho mai troppo tempo).

 

Mamma mia che disco "WP"! mi piace da matti addirittura l'intro che solitamente è una traccia che salto!

P. S. A word from Lex. I don't know who's gonna be recording it besides myself. Most likely none from the Poet's previous line-ups, all these guys live their own lives too far away from Mechanical Poet and all the hardwork that his music and lyrics require. I'll probably do everythig on my own, yet there are too many characters to handle for one man. There will definitely be some guests. Anyway, the work has started. Happy spring, everyone! "

 

Speriamo, perchè a a parte il primo mini e il primo album, dei seguenti mi sono piaciute poche cose.
Wp discone, penalizzato da una pessima produzione, sparata in tutti i sensi. Ma ad alcuni piace cosí.

March 16. In days when the Sun came from behind the clouds making all bloodsucking punks grudgingly crawl back into their liars, to Hillock-Warlock came migraine. There was no cure for it, except time. And that time was long and so painful that the warlock, who was relatively kind and nice, couldn't help thinking about anything else but murdering someone. But he stood his pain and did not hurt a bug. Easing his migraine by calling the weather filthiest names he knew, H.W. huddled up in the darkest corner of his dwelling, applied a cold crystal ball to his temple and quietly moaned, listening to prophecies whispered sometimes from the crystal's inky depth:

Now it's time to tell you about the main characters from The Midnight Carol and their alter-egos. Of course the Poet will always be keeping a couple of amazing surprises for the end, but the main cast is not a secret anymore.

So, here is our first four heroes:

Lex - The Imp, a searcher and investigator
Jerry Lenin - Xavier, a bounty hunter, treasure hunter, booze hunter
Kirill Kachanov - The Gardener, a dark creature; gloom, grim and spooky
Anastasia Petrenko - Mora, a badass witch

Other guys are still in search of their voice. Althoght I think I've found a good match for half the characters (although not dead sure yet), the rest are still mute. Anyway, I think everyone gets their guardian angel in the end.



What about the music?

As you can see, Mechanical Poet uses his original logo again. It doesn't mean that The Midnight Carol... is going to be a second Handmade Essence or Woodland Prattlers, or any other Poet's record.

It's a bit similar to Woodland Prattlers to some extent, as The Midnight Carol... is also about forests, magic and dark creatures, but its music is more likely a blend between my instrumental album Music of Mistland, Luceria and the Ocean of Sunset: https://mistland.bandcamp.com and some sort of solid, energetic, mesmerizing and beautiful atmospheric rock.



As for the plot and locations, they are based on a novel that I'm working on right now. Honestly speaking, this subject is too huge and deep to explain in a couple of sentences. I think it'd be better to publish a special news report about it next time. And who knows, maybe there will be even more singers announced by then.

The shortest song (Peace Breakers in Cranberry Bogs) is 3:30 long.

The longest one (Mushroom Lullaby) is 15:21.

The fastest (Amber-Blue-Eyes) is 161 bpm.

The slowest (Corpse in the Attic) is 103 bpm.

The craziest song is called The Wild Chase.

The song that most of you will call the best on the album is When the Fern Flower Blooms.

The song whose brilliance you will discover after a couple of weeks of listening is Queen of the Hill.

The song that will make you cry is An Ordinary Night.

The song that will totally blow your mind is Hermeticon.

The most WTF song is Dream Eaters.

The most magical one is Bone Garden.

The song that will make you fight to the end and never surrender is The Filcher and the Sicklehands.

The song that no one sings is called Prologue.

Now it is time to take the tracks to the studio and start immortalizing The Carol. Stay tuned for the next update.
