Myrath

Buon lavoro, ma a mio parere un passo indietro rispetto a Legacy, che reputo il loro miglior album.

 

Pensa che qulli del Legend fra i loro punti di forza mettono "luogo facilmente raggiungibile con tutti i mezzi" "vicinanza a mezzi pubblici e treni" "orari comodi". Fra l'altro è strano finiscano tardi, sopratutto infrasettimanale, visto che di legge in centro Milano a mezzanotte l'area concerti (compreso anche l'esterno) deve essere completamente sgombera, giusto chi fa le pulizie può starci.
Comnque il problema per me non si presenta, salto nuovamente il Legend per Bologna.

 

La metro è abbastanza vicina, quello sì, fermata di Affori a meno di 1 km, riguardo agli orari, la butto lì, mi viene da pensare che il motivo principale sia il fatto che si trova in una zona periferica e possono permettersi di sforare... Rimane il fatto che non hanno un grosso rispetto nei confronti di tutti... Ricordo ancora che i Fates Warning finirono attorno all'una costringendomi a perdermi gli ultimi CINQUE brani in scaletta (e non erano certo dei brani di seconda importanza)...

Se la Vertigo di degnasse di rispondere sapremmo se i concerti sono confermati, annullati o rinviati.

 

ho letto nella pagina del The Factory (dove le cose le comunicano per tempo) che l'ordinanza è prolungata ancora fino all 8 marzo e dovrebbe riguardare veneto, lombardia ed emilia quindi penso proprio che salteranno, sperò vengano posticipati, attendiamo però il comunicato ufficiale

 

Lo so, giusto ieri ho anche visto due persone che ci han parlato, almeno loro delle notizie le han date.

As Elyes said, let’s skip the intros and let’s dive right in :
The band decided to separate from Elyes.
This kind of decision cannot and should not be taken lightly.
We've weighed the pros and cons thousands of times.
We did this for months to make sure we made the right decision for the band and especially the fans, removing any kind of personal matters and ego driven naughtiness.
Myrath is much more than musicians who meet to play on stage.
Myrath is as much a family as crazy fellows who made the bet to go a long way together.
With a view to maintaining these strong links, which allow the members to compose the music, to get along, to face the difficulties, to be welded in success as in failure, we decided it would be the best to make this choice.
We will make no value judgment here, and are too modest to give the details of what happened behind the scene.
The only thing we can do is wish Elyes the best.

« I’ll skip the intros, it's been long and dreadful, Let's dive right in.
I am no longer with Myrath, and the majority of you good people would have figured that out by now.
I could, of course, go down the PR media stunts route of bands announcements and say that "we had our artistic differences" or that "I wish to pursue my individual path creatively", all of which might as well be true, but not entirely; Two years ago, it was decided that Myrath would be better off without me, and my departure was incremental to the band's future and success.
It took me a while to wrap my head, and heart, around it, Myrath was my life, after all, a teenage dream I pursued 21 years ago and nourished with my blood & soul ever since.
And so, I spent the last 2 years in introspection, gently processing the the fadeout of that dream, a justly time to bid farewell to a 21 years old life journey, the journey that shaped me and my music up until now, but I finally did, and I am now at peace, content in wishing the utmost success for the band in continuing their journey.
My music lives on through you, no matter my whereabouts, and I am so much looking forward to sharing all my creations with you as soon as I am released from "the publishing contract", until that time, I am ever present in your unconditional love & support.
Now that we've got all that out of the way, along with COVID 19! Let's get back to life, shall we?

Che peccato

 

Nuovo album in arrivo:

Dear Myrathists,
We are super stoked to be able to give you fresh details about our new album!
Some of you might already know it, but this new album will be composed of 11 new songs. The album has been produced by the one and only ₭evin Codfert, mixed & mastered by the great Jacob Hansen, and it includes a few guests.
The artwork has been painted by the excellent Bader Klidi. We will reveal it soon, don't worry!

 

La mia speranza è che recuperi un bel po' di aggressività.

Dopo un esordio dove sembravano praticamente dei Symphony X 2.0, con Desert Call avevano creato il mix perfetto fra metal, prog e musica araba; Tales of the Sands riduceva l'influenza prog e già un pochino levigava l'aggressività ma era ancora un perfetto mix di metal e sonorità desertiche, diciamo che il secondo e terzo album erano una bella accoppiata, più elaborato il primo, più immediato il secondo ma insieme formavano un bel duo. Poi però si sono alleggeriti troppo, si sono fatti troppo guidare dal campanilismo e hanno pompato troppo le sonorità della loro terra mettendo le chitarre troppo in secondo piano, non per essere dispregiativo ma molte cose da Legacy o Shehili potresti metterle come sottofondo dal kebabbaro o in uno spettacolo di danza del ventre e ci si potrebbe tranquillamente non accorgere di essere di fronte ad una metal band.

Per carità eh, anche gli ultimi due dischi sono assolutamente validi, con melodie anche brillanti, però forse era meglio pubblicarli più avanti, quello che voglio dire, il succo di tutto il discorso, è semplicemente che hanno bruciato troppo presto quello che erano riusciti a costruire, il perfetto mix che avevano creato è durato troppo troppo poco.

 

Condivisibile, ma la vedo molto dura un ritorno al passato... credo che con gli ultimi album abbiano ampliato tantissimo il loro pubblico, immagino vorranno puntare sempre più su questa linea

Io spero piuttosto in un album più solido di "Shehili", che non mi aveva convinto al 100%: alcune canzoni molto valide, affascinante nel complesso, ma paragonandolo al precedente "Legacy", mi deluse abbastanza

 

Insomma se devo iniziare ad ascoltare qualcosa vado con i primi 2 album?
