Omnium Gatherum

Ciao ragazzi, prima uscita di livello per il 2011. Fuori il 7 febbraio 2011....pur non amando particolarmente il death melodico devo riconoscere che l'anteprima del video degli Omnium Gatherum e' di livello.

Boh di loro conosco un paio d'album.
Redshift non era male ma nemmeno un disco d'eccellenza.
Il nuovo video non è malissimo, ma non mi piace molto cmq.
C'è di meglio nell'MDM, ma se non altro loro sono più personali di molte altre band.

 

Li ho sempre reputati un gruppo di serie B, almeno per quanto concerne i primi album, noiosi e banali. Gli ultimi non li ho mai sentiti, o forse qualcosa che però non mi ha preso.
Ho visto che sta per uscire un nuovo album; magari vi dò un ascolto...

 

band che stimo parecchio...sono curioso di ascoltare il nuovo lavoro in uscita tra non molto oramai

 

Non posso non quotare Northern. Ho sempre avuto l'impressione anche io che fossero estremamente noiosi. Bravi strumentisti ma compositori decisamente mediocri.
I dischi per quanto formalmente ineccepibili mi hanno sempre detto poco, talvolta anche nulla. Ricordo l'impressione di fastidio che provai dopo aver terminato l'ascolto di "Years in Waste", quaranta minuti abbondanti di nulla musicale.
Capisco che possano piacere, ma in ambito death melodico c'è decisamente di meglio.

 

sicuramente...io li trovo molto particolari..c'anno anche quel non so che atmosfera quasi doom..che a me piace una cifra...mi hanno conquistato subito dal vivo..prima di vederli a roma non sapevo amnco della loro esistenza

 

Anche io non sbavavo troppo per loro (ho i primi dischi, non sono male ma mancava sempre qualcosa), invece ora li ritrovo brillantissimi con il nuovo "New World Shadows". Tocchi melanconici molto vicini a certo doom/death e pezzi melodic death di classe, lavoro particolare che tira fuori cosuccie abbastanza inusuali. Ottima uscita di questo 2011 senza dubbio.

 

Non so come sia sto New World Shadows, ma il problema di questa band è che i loro pezzi sono troppo simili tra loro. Un po' va bene ad ascoltarli, ma dopo un po' sembra di sentire sempre la stessa cosa trita e ritrita, tra i ritornelli clean vocals, tra ste parti doom/death, tra le tastiere atmosferiche (troppo invadenti ed onnipresenti). E' questa l'impressione che ho avuto a sentirli dal vivo.

 

Li ho ascoltati in passato ma non mi entusiasmavano piu di tanto però questa canzone è notevole

BASSIST IN - GUITARIST OUT

As you all know times and situations change in life all the time.

On the positive side of things - We're hard at work composing the new album stuff, and our bass player spot has finally been officially filled with our brother in arms - welcome MIKKO KIVISTÖ! This charismatic bass beast has already been playing gigs and conquered stages with us almost a year, and is previously known from the Finnish group Pain Confessor. As a human being and as a musician he fits absolutely very well to the Omnium Gatherum horde!

Here are Mikko’s thoughts on the matter:

”Im totally honored to be part of OG gang. Back in May 2019 I played my first gigs with the boys in Russia and it immediately felt I was in a right place with the right band. It felt like a dream come true! Last year was super, a lot of festivals and an European tour. It was easy to join the band with full of pure hearted guys I now can call my brothers and family. I will promise to continue to smash the bass at least as hard as all the previous guys did. Hopefully we’ll together beat this COVID-19 soon and see you all again in festivals, tours and gigs. Thank you Omnium Gatherum for trusting my skills. See you all soon. Stay safe and let the metal flow!”

On a bit more negative side of news - Our long time guitarist Joonas Koto decided to leave the group, already a while ago. There was no bad blood or fighting behind the decision, just a surprise and a shock. Joonas was just tired of active touring and travelling. We wish all the best for Joonas in his future endeavours!

Our brothers in metal, Jani Liimatainen and Nick Cordle have been helping us filling in as a 2nd guitar player on our gigs lately. Thanks dudes, and we salute your awesomeness!

At the moment we are operating officially as a 5-men unit, and composing the next album by storm and quarantine -
