La EMI Virgin India Ltd ritirerà dal mercato tutte le copie del nuovo album degli Slayer, "Christ Illusion", in seguito alle proteste del gruppo Catholic Secular Forum (CSF).
Il segretario generale del CSF, Joseph Dias, ha pubblicato un comunicato in cui si oppone fermamente all'artwork e condanna la traccia "Skeleton Christ", in quanto il testo viene definito come "un insulto al cristianesimo". Il CSF ha anche fatto un esposto dalla polizia, in cui si dichiara che il disco "offenderà la sensibilità dei musulmani con la traccia "Jihad" e gli indiani laici che hanno rispetto per tutti i credo".
Kaveri Khullar, marketing manager di EMI India, ha dichiarato in un'intervista: "Abbiamo incontrato il CSF e ci siamo sentiti in dovere di scusarci assicurando loro che tutte le copie dell'album saranno ritirate dal mercato. Non abbiamo intenzione di ripubblicarlo in ogni caso".
"Christ Illusion" è rimasto sugli scaffali indiani solo una settimana e il numero di copie vendute finora non è stato confermato.
