Dream Theater: annunciato il nuovo album, “A View from the Top of the World”

I due volte nominati ai Grammy Awards e titani del progressive metal DREAM THEATER annunciano oggi la pubblicazione del nuovo e quindicesimo studio album; “A View From The Top Of The World” sarà pubblicato il 22 ottobre 2021. L’album sarà composto da 7 brani ed è il secondo per Inside Out Music / Sony Music. Il nuovo capitolo è stato prodotto dallo stesso John Petrucci, registrato da James “Jimmy T” Meslin e successivamente mixato e masterizzato da Andy Sneap.
I Dream Theater, formati da James LaBrie, John Petrucci, Jordan Rudess, John Myung e Mike Mangini, erano nel pieno di un tour mondiale sold-out in supporto all’ultimo album “Distance Over Time” quando la pandemia globale portò il mondo a fermarsi. Tutti si ritrovarono nelle proprie case, con James LaBrie bloccato in Canada e il resto della band negli Stati Uniti. Il destino ha voluto che la band avesse appena ultimato la costruzione dei DTHQ (Dream Theater Headquarters), un complesso contenente uno studio di registrazione, sala prove, control room, un magazzino per la strumentazione oltre che un luogo per dar vita alla propria creatività. Inizialmente LaBrie si unì alla band tramite ZOOM attraverso un monitor nei DTHQ raggiungendoli fisicamente solo a marzo 2021, in quarantena, per registrare le linee vocali assieme a Petrucci.
Il commento di John Petrucci:
“Amiamo suonare i nostri strumenti. Questo non passerà mai. Amo essere creativo, scrivere ed esercitare quella parte della mia mente. Siamo stati in grado di farlo per molto tempo e non lo diamo per scontato. Ogni volta che ci incontriamo, sappiamo che non possiamo deludere noi stessi o i nostri fan, quindi riusciamo a impegnarci ancora di più.”
Il commento di James LaBrie:
“Ci avviciniamo ad ogni album come se fosse il nostro primo, è stato un viaggio fantastico ma non è arrivato il momento di fermarsi.”

Dream Theater is also planning to hit the road in support of the new album. The Top Of The World Tour of North America kicks off on October 28th in Mesa, AZ and runs through December 14th where it concludes in St. Petersburg, FL. The tour will make stops in Seattle, WA; Chicago, IL; Washington, DC; New York, NY and Orlando, FL among others.
