Ciao dall’Italia e benvenuto su TrueMetal! Come va?

Ciao Italia!

Interview with John Elliot from Confess by Mickey E.Vil (Radio Onda D’Urto FM, The Mugshots).

Hi from Italy and welcome on TrueMetal! How are you doing?

Hello Italy! I´m doing just fine. Super excited to release our new album this Friday.

You have a special relationship with Italy: tell us about your collaboration with Street Symphonies Records & Burning Minds Music Group.

Yeah, Italy has always been great for Confess. We toured a lot there and love coming back every time. The collab with Street Symphonies Records & Burning Minds Music Group has only been a joy so far. Stefano at Burning Minds has done a great job with this release. I can only see a bright future between the band and them.

How would you describe Burn’Em All to the italian fans of Confess?

I think Burn `Em All is the result of releasing Jail and Haunters, Its like a perfect mix of both those albums but still with some new elements added. I think the song writing on this one is better and more mature. When we did Jail I was 21-22 years old. I was at a total different place in life, we all were. I think you can hear that in the music.

Which are the main themes we can find in the lyrics of Burn’Em All?

There is no main theme but the lot of the lyrics is about mankind and how we fuck things up our selfs and have done so through out the history.

What can you tell us about the beautiful artwork of the album?

It’s done by a girl named Gisel Ippoliti, a very talented tattoo artist from Argentina. We told her what we wanted and she delivered.

We are living in a weird digital era. Talking about the real thing, what shall an audience expect from a Confess’ live show?

We’ve been known as a pretty high energy band on stage, so expect a good time and expect a rock´n roll overload, haha. It’s never been something we think much about, we just lose our shit when we go on stage and trying to have the time of our lives and hopefully passing that energy over to the audience. For us its always been about playing live. I love being in the studio, creating and trying new stuff but only for a short period of time. Then I want to play live.

Sweden is always been a sort of Eldorado of Rock/Metal music. How are things going these days?

I’d say its pretty good for rock in Sweden.

Which is your relationship with nowadays social media and digital ways of promoting music?

Hmm, you know what, i´m not sure what I feel about social media in the music scene. In one hand I know we are reaching a lot of people and it the marketing budget would otherwise be thousands of dollars. In the other hand I think some of the mystic of a band gets lost. And you can always say ”Well, don’t use social media then” but if you do that you are doomed as a band. You need to interact with your fans etc. So i guess its just to ride along and see what the future holds.

Do you have any special dream you still would like to fulfill?

Hmm, not not exactly, but of course I would like confess to grow more, etc.

Any final message and greeting to the italian fans of Confess?

Like to thank our Italian fans who always been there for us, from the start. Means a lot and hope were coming back this year.
