I LUNATIC SOUL, il gruppo polacco guidato da Mariusz Duda, il principale compositore e cantante/bassista dei Riverside, sono lieti di annunciare l’ottavo album in studio “The World Under Unsun”, in uscita il 31 ottobre 2025 in tutto il mondo esclusa la Polonia, tramite Inside Out Music.
Disponibile il il secondo singolo estratto, “The Prophecy”, con musica e testi e tutti gli strumenti suonati dallo stesso Mariusz Duda, con l’eccezione della batteria curata da Wawrzyniec Dramowicz. Qui il video curato da Sightsphere:
Il commento di Mariusz Duda in merito al nuovo singolo:
“‘The Prophecy’ è uno dei brani più “rock-oriented” dell’imminente doppio album dei Lunatic Soul “The World Under Unsun”, più vicino a quello che solitamente propongo nei Riverside. Allo stesso tempo, è anche tra i più melodici, soprattutto grazie al suo ritornello molto orecchiabile. Il testo parla della situazione in cui un artista diventa famoso solo dopo la sua morte. Probabilmente tutti ci siamo imbattuti in questo fenomeno: quando, dopo la scomparsa di un artista, il suo lavoro attira improvvisamente l’attenzione, compaiono nuovi fan e aumenta il numero di stream e di vendite dell’album. Il protagonista della canzone è quindi un artista che ha appena appreso, grazie a “The Prophecy”, che raggiungerà la fama che desiderava solo dopo la sua morte. Fortunatamente, la composizione stessa non è pessimistica. Trasuda speranza. Musicalmente, il brano è epico, emotivo ed edificante”.

Registrato, mixato e masterizzato da Magda e Robert Srzedniccy presso il Serakos Studio di Varsavia, in Polonia, “The World Under Unsun” è un vero e proprio doppio album che contiene un totale di 14 brani per quasi 90 minuti di durata.

Lunatic Soul is the solo outfit of the creator, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Mariusz Duda. Duda is best known as the frontman of the Polish progressive rock band Riverside, where he is the main composer, lyricist, vocalist, and bassist. In 2008, he launched a separate outlet in which, as he says himself, he wanted to create something different and uncompromising.
Lunatic Soul is inspired by artists such as Dead Can Dance, Peter Gabriel (especially his “Passion” album), Mike Oldfield, Clannad, Hedningarna and Depeche Mode. It’s an attempt to blend ambient music and electronic music with folk and rock influences. Duda plays almost all the instruments himself, with occasional guest appearances from invited musicians.
While the artist doesn’t reject the label of progressive rock, he believes that “Lunatic Soul gives me more room for musical originality than Riverside”. For this reason, he doesn’t like Lunatic Soul being referred to as a “side project”. “To me, there’s nothing secondary about Lunatic Soul. Musically and conceptually, it’s an equally important musical world – if not more important. Here, I can do literally anything.”
Since its inception in 2008, Lunatic Soul have released seven full-length albums and 2025 will see the release of the 8th album “The World Under Unsun” via Inside Out Music internationally and Mystic Production in Poland. All eight albums form what is known as the “The Circle of Life and Death”, a cohesive story in which a solitary artist-traveller journeys between life and death.
