Dopo la recente firma con Century Media Records, gli scozzesi HELLRIPPER presentano oggi il nuovo singolo “Kinchyle (Goatkraft And Granite)”. Guarda il video diretto da David Gregory:
Di seguito il commento del mastermind James McBain:
“Kinchyle” è il grido di guerra del clan McBain e un primo assaggio del nuovo album in uscita.
Il brano si ispira alla mia esperienza adolescenziale nel nord-est della Scozia, ad Aberdeen (la Granite City), e riflette su cosa significhi sentirsi intrappolati in un certo ambiente. Volevo mostrare un lato della Scozia che non è necessariamente la magica ‘cartolina’ che molte persone immaginano quando pensano al nostro paese.
Dal punto di vista musicale, il brano suona 100% Hellripper ed è la canzone più ‘rock’ che ho scritto da un po’ di tempo a questa parte, anche se ci sono alcuni elementi nuovi con cui mi sono divertito a sperimentare. Il brano è stato influenzato da Tank, Running Wild e Motörhead, oltre che da gruppi come Opeth e Witherscape.
Nel complesso, è una canzone molto personale sia in termini di testo che di influenze musicali. Spero che vi piaccia… All Hail the Goat!”

The brainchild of guitarist/vocalist/solitary force, James McBain, Hellripper has been running like a denim-vested, backpatch-encrusted William Wallace, bravehearting his way through metal’s bloodiest battlefields since first coagulating his personal darkness in 2014. Taking armaments from “Kill ‘Em All” era Hetfield and “Welcome to Hell” era Mantas, McBain has immersed his fascination with darkness and speed with Scottish history and come with bloody masterpieces like 2023’s “Warlocks Grim & Withered Hags” that Metal Injection stated: “Bursts with growth and a mature exploration of darkness and eeriness while maintaining that original high-octane burning”. McBain is presently sharpening his blades and casting new spells that will transmogrify into Hellripper’s Century Media debut, due around the vernal equinox of 2026. More details to follow soon…
