Hellripper: il lyric video di “Coronach”, title-track del nuovo album

Lo scozzese HELLRIPPER pubblicherà il nuovo e quarto album “Coronach” il 27 marzo 2026, su Century Media Records. Disponibile il lyric video della title-track:

Il commento di James McBain, compositore, cantante e chitarrista dietro Hellripper:
“Il coronach è un canto funebre tradizionalmente eseguito ai funerali nelle Highlands scozzesi. Alle mie parole si intreccia l’omonima poesia di Sir Walter Scott, che ha ispirato questa storia: il funerale di un personaggio ambivalente e misterioso, venerato dalla sua comunità per le sue gesta eroiche, ma la cui vita nascondeva molti segreti oscuri. Oltre che dal punto di vista lirico, il brano è anche un esperimento musicale per me; è stato influenzato principalmente dal thrash metal della fine degli anni ’80 e da band come Bathory, Gallowbraid e Atlantean Kodex. Un pizzico di post-punk, una buona dose di armonie di chitarra in stile Iron Maiden, alcuni riferimenti classici e il lamento ossessivo delle cornamuse che sfuma in lontananza: questa canzone è un’ottima conclusione per il nuovo album”.

Come da tradizione anche “Coronach” è stato registrato e mixato dallo stesso James McBain presso i Coronach Studios in Scozia, Regno Unito, e poi masterizzato da Damien Herring presso i Subterranean Watchtower Studios negli Stati Uniti.
