Dream Theater: Mike Portnoy spiega la setlist più breve per le date europee

I Dream Theater hanno dato il via al loro tour europeo estivo 2025 il 3 giugno a Turku, in Finlandia. Il batterista Mike Portnoy ha comunicato il seguente aggiornamento:

Ho visto alcuni commenti online sul fatto che lo show di apertura di ieri sera in Finlandia è stato un unico set e non due set con un intervallo…

Per la cronaca, molti di questi spettacoli estivi da headliner avranno formati diversi: alcuni saranno un unico lungo set, altri saranno due set con un intervallo. I promoter delle varie date hanno prenotato e programmato gli spettacoli in modo diverso… Per esempio, a volte i locali hanno un coprifuoco da rispettare, ecc. ecc. Onestamente, non so quale sia il motivo o la ragione di tutto ciò, ma anch’io devo adattarmi a ciascuno di essi quando scrivo le scalette.

Ma chiunque abbia assistito a un nostro spettacolo da “headliner” saprà che sono molto attento alle canzoni quando scrivo nuovi set per i luoghi in cui abbiamo già suonato o per quelli in cui non abbiamo ancora suonato, ma la lunghezza del set e il formato stesso variano da mercato a mercato e da situazione a situazione.

È un po’ diverso quando si fa un tour estivo di “festival” invece che un’intera tappa di concerti propri ogni sera.
