Le leggende del rock MÖTLEY CRÜE hanno recentemente annunciato “Theatre Of Pain 40th Anniversary”, uno speciale boxset celebrativo per i 40 anni di “Theatre Of Pain”, in uscita il 14 novembre 2025 su BMG. Disponibile il lyric video della versione live “Keep Your Eye On The Money”:
Pubblicato nel giugno del 1985, “Theatre of Pain” segna un nuovo audace capitolo per i Mötley Crüe: stilisticamente audace, musicalmente esplosivo e smaccatamente street glam.
Alimentato dalla spavalderia di “Smokin’ In The Boys Room” e dall’anthemica “Home Sweet Home”, il terzo album in studio dei Crüe ha aperto nuove strade pur rimanendo fedele alle proprie radici hard rock.
Questo album pionieristico ha definito il modello musicale e stilistico per molte band successive, mentre i Crüe stessi hanno continuato a evolversi e a reinventare il loro look e il loro sound a ogni album.
Theatre Of Pain è stato il loro primo LP a raggiungere la Top 10 degli Stati Uniti, piazzandosi al 6° posto, ed è diventato un successo mondiale (7° posto in Australia, 7° in Svezia, 5° in Finlandia, 11° in Canada, prima Top 40 nel Regno Unito al 36° posto). L’album è ora certificato 4 volte platino dalla RIAA negli Stati Uniti e 3 volte platino in Canada.
Il singolo principale, la cover di “Smokin’ In The Boys Room”, diventa il loro primo successo nella Top 20 degli Stati Uniti, raggiungendo il 16° posto. L’iconico video di “Home Sweet Home” è stato il più trasmesso su MTV per oltre 90 giorni, portando alla famigerata “Crüe Rule”, che limita i video a 30 giorni. La canzone ha recentemente raggiunto di nuovo la posizione numero 1, questa volta alla US Classic Rock Radio, grazie alla nuova versione con la superstar mondiale Dolly Parton.
