Jethro Tull: i dettagli della collector’s edition di ‘Aqualung’

Per celebrare il 40esimo anniversario di “Aqualung“, uno degli album più acclamati della discografia dei Jethro Tull, il gruppo ha deciso di distribuire a partire dal 31 ottobre una collector edition che sarà composta da:

– Vinile (180 grammi), 2 CD, DVD, e Blu-Ray iinclusi vari inediti, caratterizzato da un nuovo mixaggio stereo, 5.1 DTS e  Dolby Digital Surround. La “special edition” includerà invece solo i due CD.

– Booklet rilegato di 48 pagine con liner notes ed intervista a Ian, sessione a domande e risposte con il tecnico John Burns, Don Lawson (inizialmente scritta per Classic Rock Presents Prog numero di marzo 2011), ricordi dei membri del gruppo (Jeffrey Hammond-Hammond (basso), Martin Barre (chitarra), Clive Bunker (batteria), Barrie Barlow (batterista che ha sostituito Clive Bunker), Glenn Cornick (bassista originale sui primi dischi), Terry Ellis (Manager) and Jennie Franks (prima moglie di Ian che ha scritto il testo della title track), rari scatti, note sul nuovo mixaggio del produttore  Steven Wilson, e di Billie Ritchie (dalla rock band degli anni ’60 CLOUDS, compagno di etichetta dei Jethro Tull), testi e altro ancora.

Ian commenta: “Beh, eccola finalmente! Il superbo remix a cura di Steven Wilson (PORCUPINE TREE) sia in qualità stereo che in 5.1 Surround. In più, i mixaggi originali rimasterizzati, diverse bonus track, versioni alternative dei classici di Aqualung risalenti a 40 anni fa. Quando ho scritto e registrato questi brani, lavorando come uno schiavo su un buon audio mixer aigli Island Records’ Basing Street Studios, non avrei mai pensato che avremmo celebrato il quarantesimo anniversario dell’usicta del disco, che verrà distribuita ad ottobre. Ma non puoi abbandonare un buon pezzo. Molti di questi sono ancora i nostri preferiti nelle setlist dei concerti in tutto il mondo. Spero vi piaccia questa splendida edizione distribuita da EMI.“
